I gazed at it for a long time, thinking to make a short necklace with the same style. Hmm... How lazy I was... I was lazy to do the ring by ring connection craft, lazy to think about a new design at that moment. Ahh! What should I do? Laying down and continued gazing at the bracelet. Haha, an idea flashed into my mind!! I picked a metal chain and attached a toggle clasp on it. I made a convertible chain to transform my bracelet into a necklace. Let's see the outcome.<br />
<br />

Making the ring-to-ring connections for a bracelet is not hard, whereas you need a little knowledge on making a bead charm, especially when you need a unique charm and not a ready-made charm that can get from the shops out there. If you are interested in making your own charm, please <a href="https://rainbowscrafts-n-creations.blogspot.com/2018/03/how-to-make-bead-charm.html" target="_blank">click this link</a> to view a post that shows you how to make a bead charm. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFEliYBvdC9gllTxaPWsbVL8wwuzy9osrBIVuR4viNaLRZSLIV8Tv77J21ZVa-WwO-Nf5ikZUIrbeLTZO5Tt82K1QBhWdrtpmliWN-VTZNDBM8Q2JKoY34HX-PcjdiX3MqyGcuy1nWs4Y/s1600/mask-T.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="494" data-original-width="800" height="395" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFEliYBvdC9gllTxaPWsbVL8wwuzy9osrBIVuR4viNaLRZSLIV8Tv77J21ZVa-WwO-Nf5ikZUIrbeLTZO5Tt82K1QBhWdrtpmliWN-VTZNDBM8Q2JKoY34HX-PcjdiX3MqyGcuy1nWs4Y/s640/mask-T.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
The key transmission route of Covid-19 is via droplets that fly out of our mouth when we speak, cough, or sneeze. So, everybody looks for masks since Covid-19 breakout and leads to a short supply in the market, especially the disposable 3-ply surgical masks. Therefore many people start looking for cloth masks or masks covers. Although we know that a cloth mask is not meant to replace the surgical face mask, it is better than none.<br />
I read an article a few days ago, it mentioned that the best cloth masks were constructed of two layers of heavyweight "quilters cotton" with a thicker and tighter weave and had a thread count of at least 180. It<span class="text_exposed_show"> also stated, in other words, if the fabric allowed for a substantial amount of light to shine through, it was probably going to allow tiny viral particles through as well. </span><br />
<span class="text_exposed_show"> Since I have some quilters cotton in hand, I
decide to make some cloth masks for my family members. I don't know the thread count of my cloth but there is not much light that can shine through. I think it should be all right.</span> This is a 3 layers cloth mask cum mask cover, it features an opening at the top, you can insert a piece of liner, or unwoven fabric into the mask for added protection.<br />
A face mask is a precaution that we can take to help slow the spread of Covid-19 but it is not a substitute for physical distancing and other prevention methods.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<i>Materials:</i><br />
<i>1. A piece of cotton fabric 21cm x 53cm</i><br />
<i>2. Two pieces of elastic string approximately 17cm</i><br />
<i>3. A piece of copper wire approximately 12cm </i><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkWmS3WFT053cEibQtY7H1j84b7A7ZGs817-XJ4MUGc6knBphYnck75UMFlI7BPeht0zUujl7O-d67bszhVtkMMrPe7Ts2sVfHJaUQb8R08v2IgpHdh3jynvC4uICnqk1qLapqDoWpKC8/s1600/mask-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="468" data-original-width="1600" height="186" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkWmS3WFT053cEibQtY7H1j84b7A7ZGs817-XJ4MUGc6knBphYnck75UMFlI7BPeht0zUujl7O-d67bszhVtkMMrPe7Ts2sVfHJaUQb8R08v2IgpHdh3jynvC4uICnqk1qLapqDoWpKC8/s640/mask-1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Make a 1.5cm double-fold hem at one of the short edges. So, fold your fabric towards the wrong side by approximately 1.5cm two times. Press the hem and pin it in place. Then, make a 0.5cm double-fold hem at the other short edge. You can either fold the fabric towards the wrong side or right side at this step. Press the hem in place and sew the hem. By referring to the picture on the right-hand side, place your fabric wrong side up, make a partial fold on the fabric by picking up the narrow hem and pull towards the large hem until you form a 31.5cm rectangle, and pin it in place.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4l1ldrMmlbQSrNj1sFc6_ui3teTzyMlixwX7A3k-cJkDcnfBBjru2LFCtN-LITrmFAXXPWy7vb6LFV61vLRHUKm1-wrwtEXPWSRkS65KKglz38GsYa8RJpGPaYiYXBy-_xcu8M1yLR4k/s1600/mask2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="800" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4l1ldrMmlbQSrNj1sFc6_ui3teTzyMlixwX7A3k-cJkDcnfBBjru2LFCtN-LITrmFAXXPWy7vb6LFV61vLRHUKm1-wrwtEXPWSRkS65KKglz38GsYa8RJpGPaYiYXBy-_xcu8M1yLR4k/s400/mask2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Place the fabric right side up. Draw two sets of parallel lines with fabric chalk or water-soluble marking tool as shown in the picture. Start drawing the nine blue lines from left to right and nine pink lines from right to left. The short distance between two parallel lines is 1.4cm. It should be ten pink lines that I need to draw but it seems more difficult for me to explain the measurement here... (it should be one more parallel line at the 3cm space.) Don't worry, it won't be a problem when you make the last pleat. Now, pleat the fabric along sides. Pinch the fabric up so the line with "v" mark is at the top of the fold, fold towards the third line at the right-hand side and pin it. One pleat is finished. Repeat the steps to finish all the six pleats.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L9mq8L7XGoA/XqKNtEcbORI/AAAAAAAAFxQ/You_dETBAhQ9X4hbzfv7ZAnRFqZn99iDQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/mask3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="800" height="225" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L9mq8L7XGoA/XqKNtEcbORI/AAAAAAAAFxQ/You_dETBAhQ9X4hbzfv7ZAnRFqZn99iDQCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/mask3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
You should have six pleats in the same direction. Sew the pleats in place. You will find that the pleats on the partial folded part relatively thick. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LDVt30MpP1w/XqKN1w_w2pI/AAAAAAAAFxU/6CVE-bGJIrEJPsjugLakAkWfiXP-Da-AgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/mask4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="800" height="225" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LDVt30MpP1w/XqKN1w_w2pI/AAAAAAAAFxU/6CVE-bGJIrEJPsjugLakAkWfiXP-Da-AgCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/mask4.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Fold the fabric in half with the right sides together, sew the edges on either side where I mark with the blue lines. The part with the opening will be the top of the mask.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fe1f9mY_plc/XqKN8EDeCwI/AAAAAAAAFxc/nlGDhTNAHcI_YLUAoAq9tczAFInaHXPEgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/mask5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="468" data-original-width="1600" height="186" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fe1f9mY_plc/XqKN8EDeCwI/AAAAAAAAFxc/nlGDhTNAHcI_YLUAoAq9tczAFInaHXPEgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/mask5.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
</div>
Sandwich the elastic string into the side opening and pin both ends at the bottom and the top of the mask respectively. Sew a 0.5cm seam to close the opening. Repeat the step to the other side opening.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOQR4DxBdZU3nOWYtghpMShnfEQxC1KJGKUjYqauqGo6fevmwdcS-wZh1bOK4K8oS9cycFazYYEvohEa76q8fvG778-fZj3HafuECvw9nAAp0GFJ6RX4Tp_SPjKjOTqisfS_sqdxyqLR8/s1600/mask6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="800" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOQR4DxBdZU3nOWYtghpMShnfEQxC1KJGKUjYqauqGo6fevmwdcS-wZh1bOK4K8oS9cycFazYYEvohEa76q8fvG778-fZj3HafuECvw9nAAp0GFJ6RX4Tp_SPjKjOTqisfS_sqdxyqLR8/s400/mask6.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Turn the mask right side out and topstitch a 0.5cm seam at both short edges. If you don't need a nose wire for your mask, a simple mask is done at this step. If you need a nose wire for more comfortable and secure, please go to the next step.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K3uv7m0Sy34/XqKQTaGtnLI/AAAAAAAAFx0/7dPLVL9j3wcgKoaMMrnDMyb9SwpcI6B1wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/mask7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="468" data-original-width="1600" height="186" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K3uv7m0Sy34/XqKQTaGtnLI/AAAAAAAAFx0/7dPLVL9j3wcgKoaMMrnDMyb9SwpcI6B1wCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/mask7.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
The picture on the left-hand side is a nose wire, remember to bend over the sharp ends before you insert it into the mask layers. After that, insert the wire to the very top of the front layer (the double layer) of the mask. Sew the 3 sides as shown in the picture to keep the wire in place. The room for the wire should be slightly bigger than your wire.<br />
<br />
<br />
Finally, I hope all people around the world are keeping well during this extremely challenging time. Together we can win the war against Covid-19!!<br />

<br />
Want to adorn, beautify or decorate your bag, pencil box, key chain, purse or anything that looks dull or monotonous? Do you believe a unique handmade hanging ornament would be a special enhancement that could relieve the plainness and monotony of an object or background? These hanging ornaments are my unique designs. I like retro ancient bronze ornaments, so I choose some bronzed plated mini beads and charms before I start making these ornaments. The black agate bead is the major structure for this bronzed series. The bead size is 14mm, it is a perfect size for my designs. <br />
<br />
It is very easy to make this kind of hanging ornament. The materials you will need are fine cord, beads, charms, jump rings and raw chain. No special skill is required, I believe you also could make it, as long as you know how to make a simple knot, arrange the beads and charm onto the cord with your own idea.<br />

<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kjymD0M4Xik/XPknh66sPHI/AAAAAAAAFpE/WjTXWDYg70AFZTQkVn0s08WJZCyukWesgCLcBGAs/s1600/lined%2Bzipper%2Bpouch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kjymD0M4Xik/XPknh66sPHI/AAAAAAAAFpE/WjTXWDYg70AFZTQkVn0s08WJZCyukWesgCLcBGAs/s1600/lined%2Bzipper%2Bpouch.jpg" /></a></div>
Hello, happy Thursday! Let's go through the steps below to make a lined zipper pouch. I am using cotton linen as the outer fabric and the plain lining fabric as the inner fabric in this project. Is it looks nice?<br />
<br />
<br />
<i><u>Materials</u>:</i><br />
<i>1. Two pieces of 11" x 7" Outer fabric </i><br />
<i>2. Two pieces of 11" x 7" Lining fabric </i><br />
<i>3. One piece of 2" x 9" Outer fabric</i><br />
<i>4. One piece of 2" x 3" Outer fabric</i><br />
<i>5. One piece of 11" zipper</i><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fQl0aOPkmQI/XPjbcT5qXCI/AAAAAAAAFnM/9aNNjlEnPYkV0rBxO6WwT8xLp4oRi1cLACEwYBhgL/s1600/fabric%2Bpieces.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fQl0aOPkmQI/XPjbcT5qXCI/AAAAAAAAFnM/9aNNjlEnPYkV0rBxO6WwT8xLp4oRi1cLACEwYBhgL/s400/fabric%2Bpieces.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
These are the fabric pieces and zipper that we will need to sew a zipper fabric pouch. The 11" x 7" pieces are including 1/2 inch seam allowance at each edge.<br />
<br />
<br />

The first step is to cover the tail of the zipper by using the 2" x 3" outer fabric piece. Fold it in half crosswise and press to create a crease. Open up the fabric with the right side facing up, fold the two short sides to the center crease one by one and fold again the center crease to create a cover. Tuck the tail of the zipper inside and topstitching the cover in place. Then, trim the excess fabric on the raw edges of the cover.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglMlUFndRjpypqvH91WXT45_pU6K2QXn3ng6Vpb2gMJm36u7VqAYBdSkLm0UM9RGaAk8LRfT689sQRNowEap3j1k8gxwOcekOpN8JPNwuOQzzx9P7WL1fp7r6VuBeEXuvTlkM0R_MOUgU/s1600/placing+zipper.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglMlUFndRjpypqvH91WXT45_pU6K2QXn3ng6Vpb2gMJm36u7VqAYBdSkLm0UM9RGaAk8LRfT689sQRNowEap3j1k8gxwOcekOpN8JPNwuOQzzx9P7WL1fp7r6VuBeEXuvTlkM0R_MOUgU/s400/placing+zipper.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The second step, place the 11" x 7" lining and outer fabric right sides together with the top edges aligned properly. Sandwich the zipper along the top edges. Place the tail of the zipper about 1mm or 2mm inwards from the vertical seam line so you won't sew through the tail when you join the body pieces together in the next step and the tail can stay neater once you turn it out. And you will find that it is placed slightly away from the top edges of the fabric, I do so because I want the seam line to be sat on a distance of 1/5inch (5mm) away from the zipper teeth and I can easily stitch the zipper on by following the seam line.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mqVXcis25QY/XPjqp1nnyhI/AAAAAAAAFnw/AEHQ2Y0JCXMEFPCrXv8ebgq3agojn115ACLcBGAs/s1600/sew%2Bon%2Bzipper.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="1220" height="235" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mqVXcis25QY/XPjqp1nnyhI/AAAAAAAAFnw/AEHQ2Y0JCXMEFPCrXv8ebgq3agojn115ACLcBGAs/s640/sew%2Bon%2Bzipper.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Once you have pinned the pieces properly, change the presser foot to the zipper foot if you are using the sewing machine. Sewing from the tail of the zipper by following the seam line. Keep sewing all the way down the zipper until you are about one inch from the end (or about 1/2 inch from the seam line). Keep your needle down in the fabric and then lift the zipper foot. Now, unzip the zipper until the pull tab moved to the behind of the foot. Pull the zipper tape where the needle still down towards the seam allowance and continue your sewing to the end. Trim off the excess zipper tape. Flip the two pieces of fabrics wrong sides together and topstitch the fabric edge on the zipper. Repeat the steps to finish the opposite part.<br />
<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
Once you have finished sewing the two parts, it will look like this.</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Sew a strip with the 2" x 9" fabric. Unzip the zipper to the halfway. Place all the matching pieces right sides together. Fold the strip in half to create a handle for the pouch. Then, insert the handle between the outer fabric pieces where it is near to the zipper tail. Pin properly. Sew all the way around the fabric, leaving an opening at the bottom of the lining for turning.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HyuevdFhK0k/XPkbeedDvQI/AAAAAAAAFog/6Kp4B_f3v8MgKkbOjapb5L_n6a3ZDJMhACLcBGAs/s1600/make%2Bthe%2Bbase.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HyuevdFhK0k/XPkbeedDvQI/AAAAAAAAFog/6Kp4B_f3v8MgKkbOjapb5L_n6a3ZDJMhACLcBGAs/s400/make%2Bthe%2Bbase.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Now, it is time to create a box bottom for the pouch. Squish the purse corner so the side seam lay directly over the bottom seam. Sew a 1" straight line across the corner and trim the excess fabric at the corner. Do the same for the other corners. Now, turn the pouch right side out and close the opening with slip-stitch. Done.<br />

If it an elastic waistband, then it will be super easy to make them a couple of inches smaller. You don't need any understanding of garment pieces and construction but you need to know some basic knowledge of simple stitches like slipstitch and whipstitch to get it done.<br />
<br />
In order to save ourselves the tailoring fees or the cost of new leggings or pants, we should try to do something on it! Am I right? I have done something to smaller the oversized waist on my legging. It looks so nice and fit my waist size now. <br />
<br />
Before you get started, find out how many inches you want your waist to be. In this post, I will show you how to alter the waist size by reducing two inches at both left and right sides of the waist on legging. Let's go through the steps below.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxHROrymLfjM5X6LBLaoThvie3lUgUcvu4412yhKkxt-xcZKRTkD5-apMVoz8MT-C7h7D77Z9wsJWUaqJF0DuO71KfH4M0Vp6BflnqhW9-FyVg6f-mryLNLc3TPVhyPGwu_80Cd8kA3C8/s1600/waistband1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxHROrymLfjM5X6LBLaoThvie3lUgUcvu4412yhKkxt-xcZKRTkD5-apMVoz8MT-C7h7D77Z9wsJWUaqJF0DuO71KfH4M0Vp6BflnqhW9-FyVg6f-mryLNLc3TPVhyPGwu_80Cd8kA3C8/s320/waistband1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
To begin, lay your legging flat with the right side out as shown in the photo. Align the front and back middle lines and pin it in place.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBtJOgo9vkl30hoQNrhP706qmVBKk5kBMK5QjLvFRFfEUYMs6NWMVE8wsKgWjRmmaIf-1m7sWnbkB0tFQkdqETgVaSnXxmsgRp5dhDufBSkw-Ce8VyZJ7MtHM1ZMfNyIRszKzytBxvHfY/s1600/waistband2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBtJOgo9vkl30hoQNrhP706qmVBKk5kBMK5QjLvFRFfEUYMs6NWMVE8wsKgWjRmmaIf-1m7sWnbkB0tFQkdqETgVaSnXxmsgRp5dhDufBSkw-Ce8VyZJ7MtHM1ZMfNyIRszKzytBxvHfY/s320/waistband2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Using a pin to mark both sides where you need to do the alterations.</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SA4B8CUGafM/XPE9Z5BwEGI/AAAAAAAAFiU/-wl3dG3c-e850JQgRXvCikX3lzlDKv6tgCLcBGAs/s1600/waistband3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SA4B8CUGafM/XPE9Z5BwEGI/AAAAAAAAFiU/-wl3dG3c-e850JQgRXvCikX3lzlDKv6tgCLcBGAs/s320/waistband3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Push the pin inwards about one inch deep (can slightly more than one inch) as shown in the photo. Then, flatten the inner fold to create an inverted pleat and pin it in place.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CMB02mtWtAo/XPE-PspOEtI/AAAAAAAAFik/WksiTeozYYgzOmeXTvcdWA08s0l3GMEFACLcBGAs/s1600/waistband4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CMB02mtWtAo/XPE-PspOEtI/AAAAAAAAFik/WksiTeozYYgzOmeXTvcdWA08s0l3GMEFACLcBGAs/s320/waistband4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Slipstitch the pleat. How many inches long should you slipstitch the pleat? It depends on how wide is your waistband. The width of my waistband is about one inch wide, so I slipstitch the pleat slightly more than one inch.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-E46XjQjYBjI/XPFBdcz6JNI/AAAAAAAAFiw/4kas3kNJolgfYfH5VnSojO8cE2T429dswCLcBGAs/s1600/waistband5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-E46XjQjYBjI/XPFBdcz6JNI/AAAAAAAAFiw/4kas3kNJolgfYfH5VnSojO8cE2T429dswCLcBGAs/s320/waistband5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Now, turn to the wrong side of the waistband. You will have a box pleat here. You need to do a final finishing. It is so simple, what you need to do is to slipstitch or whipstitch the two sides of the box pleat so the pleat stays in place neatly.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LBqPfScSd54/XPFCKo7GoMI/AAAAAAAAFi4/G1Elf8vjo0wXdxVrKTgbPDCzAYDsaG5PACLcBGAs/s1600/waistband6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LBqPfScSd54/XPFCKo7GoMI/AAAAAAAAFi4/G1Elf8vjo0wXdxVrKTgbPDCzAYDsaG5PACLcBGAs/s320/waistband6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Da! Da! Done!</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj96ylW1-68GnqgqcclUDIPGbRRbpxlwMKUe8GqHqeWIl-PfBvTM0gwnYx8Vyu-ZjwNcB4rQ2KO1YsS6rRYpyA2pk_QQFIsEnfbY_ndVmPQLv6QwM5Wrtv4UIuvVuHXhypNR3qheD6wB6M/s1600/keycover.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj96ylW1-68GnqgqcclUDIPGbRRbpxlwMKUe8GqHqeWIl-PfBvTM0gwnYx8Vyu-ZjwNcB4rQ2KO1YsS6rRYpyA2pk_QQFIsEnfbY_ndVmPQLv6QwM5Wrtv4UIuvVuHXhypNR3qheD6wB6M/s1600/keycover.jpg" /></a></div>
I like the plaid fabric. It is always an enduring trend in making so many types of fabric crafts. The plaid pattern shows up against the plain. Certainly, matching of both plaid and plain fabric is an indispensable element before we start making any craft.<br />
<br />
I also like to use vinyl on my fabric crafts. Recently, I bought many pieces of cute kitty vinyl from an online shop. Looked at those beautiful pieces of vinyl, I couldn't wait to make something with them. Finally, I decided to make a few pieces of key covers. I had shown you how to make a key cover in my previous post. If you like it, <a href="https://rainbowscrafts-n-creations.blogspot.com/2019/04/key-cover.html" target="_blank"><i>click here</i></a> to find out more.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDYWwRBcBVJjhCbbwmP3-84GKUmO-_Em2t4IuqCOURlBJ645I4f3wIL6NFQ8EzsXBU_DECoiA6-oFZjAL01r-TU6bSbm8qhbCAOK7zWHrQNvazMI6w4iwUCbfQPgfdMwoYEgErnTj-bPw/s1600/inner+of+key+cover.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDYWwRBcBVJjhCbbwmP3-84GKUmO-_Em2t4IuqCOURlBJ645I4f3wIL6NFQ8EzsXBU_DECoiA6-oFZjAL01r-TU6bSbm8qhbCAOK7zWHrQNvazMI6w4iwUCbfQPgfdMwoYEgErnTj-bPw/s320/inner+of+key+cover.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
There are a few methods to sew a key cover. The method that I used for this project is slightly different from the previous post. There is no topstitching of straight line along the bottom edge and the plaid fabric is folded over towards the inner body cover. The method that I showed in the previous post is a simple way, you can try to modify the way of making a key cover according to your own design.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c7GX5rdP-A8/XO6G6c4mp2I/AAAAAAAAFhw/FumlpuhBnAoPBWzcD9kr-TscPTVWZpclACLcBGAs/s1600/the%2Bback%2Bof%2Bkey%2Bcover.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c7GX5rdP-A8/XO6G6c4mp2I/AAAAAAAAFhw/FumlpuhBnAoPBWzcD9kr-TscPTVWZpclACLcBGAs/s320/the%2Bback%2Bof%2Bkey%2Bcover.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
This is the appearance of the backside. In order not to leave the backside looked blank, I used a long label. If you are willing to spend more time on it, you can try to do some appliques or embroidery flowers so your project may look more unique and adorable.<br />

What should you do if the keys wandering in your bag and scratch the bag lining or tangle up with those loose corded items especially the headphone wire? A key cover might help you up. It is also a good choice to sew a key cover as a gift to your friends or family members in any occasion. A fancy handmade fabric key cover always useful and to be very intimate.<br />

First of all, cut out 2 arch-shaped fabric pieces with the whole paper pattern (remember to add 1cm seam allowance to all the fabric pieces). Then, cut out the rectangle from the paper pattern and now you have 2 parts of paper patterns. Cut out 2 small arch-shaped fabric pieces and 2 rectangle pieces with the 2 paper patterns respectively.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Apply heat transfer vinyl on the right side of a small arch-shaped fabric piece. This step is optional. You can sew a button flower, a big bow or an applique pattern on it instead of vinyl.</div>

After that, sew the rectangle fabric piece and the small arch-shaped piece together. Then, sew the lace on the horizontal seam line. Now, place the piece with batting and the piece without batting right sides together. Then, fold a seam at the bottom by following the straight seam line. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLkxVn2D9k0udXzwts9vYDfmTRSBOhWbr6t4eJNh733OnzAIS7dBFEnfuh45lhubg_lWkxsKgFJMiNBIngSsMIcCuos17p9VQZV906MiH9JHy5rtVU-LYXCoeW7lYrNsbQhZx19S_Ex-s/s1600/cablestitch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLkxVn2D9k0udXzwts9vYDfmTRSBOhWbr6t4eJNh733OnzAIS7dBFEnfuh45lhubg_lWkxsKgFJMiNBIngSsMIcCuos17p9VQZV906MiH9JHy5rtVU-LYXCoeW7lYrNsbQhZx19S_Ex-s/s1600/cablestitch.jpg" /></a></div>
Cable knitting is a beautiful style of knitting. Cables are formed by crossing one group of stitches over another at regular intervals. A part from the straight needles, I use a cable needle as a help to create cables. A cable needle is a short double-pointed needle. It may be straight or shaped with a hook in the middle. Today, I am going to show you how to knit an eight-stitch cable ( A
cable of two groups of four stitches is called an eight-stitch cable).<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BQjgb7-TSgc/XCIp9uv2OwI/AAAAAAAAFdQ/5GAVo3XNrA87J_GXKfLDnm4KVbSAoKo7wCLcBGAs/s1600/cablestitch-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BQjgb7-TSgc/XCIp9uv2OwI/AAAAAAAAFdQ/5GAVo3XNrA87J_GXKfLDnm4KVbSAoKo7wCLcBGAs/s320/cablestitch-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
On a right side row, work to the position where required for the cable, insert the cable neelde purlwise into the first group (first 4 stitches), slipping them one by one off the left needle.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5QUk_dG8X2A/XCIp_9dpAKI/AAAAAAAAFdY/fLBG5mT1Z8E78mUjVmffVo5RhCVkk58kQCLcBGAs/s1600/cablestitch-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5QUk_dG8X2A/XCIp_9dpAKI/AAAAAAAAFdY/fLBG5mT1Z8E78mUjVmffVo5RhCVkk58kQCLcBGAs/s320/cablestitch-2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Keeping the cable needle at the back of your work, knit the next group (4 stitches) as shown in the photo. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uvx8rsu_JNc/XCIp-4EM3PI/AAAAAAAAFdU/wJVM_piBq4YfgY54aD3LmLktyaoVWBcIwCLcBGAs/s1600/cablestitch-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uvx8rsu_JNc/XCIp-4EM3PI/AAAAAAAAFdU/wJVM_piBq4YfgY54aD3LmLktyaoVWBcIwCLcBGAs/s320/cablestitch-3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Then, slip the stitches on the cable needle to the other end and knit
the group of four stitches. Beginning with the first stitch slipped.
Now, you can see the cable slants to the right. <b><i>By holding the cable needle at the back of your work makes a cable that
slants to the right. If you want the cable slants to the left, the
cable needle needs to be held in front of your work.</i></b><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LT6dyowBdmU/XCIvwXQV4pI/AAAAAAAAFdo/ps8DtsPDWWAbHW_6jpISaFfP_fQdYsXugCLcBGAs/s1600/cablestitch-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LT6dyowBdmU/XCIvwXQV4pI/AAAAAAAAFdo/ps8DtsPDWWAbHW_6jpISaFfP_fQdYsXugCLcBGAs/s320/cablestitch-4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The cable shown in the photo was worked on every eight rows. You can create your cable at your desired intervals such as every nine or ten rows.<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
A few months ago, my eldest daughter's best friend gave her a box of DIY needle felting kit as a birthday gift. The kit came with a felting mat, felting needles, eyeballs and colorful wool.</div>
<br />
She was really surprised when she opened up the gift. She shouted out loudly, "What is this?" After that, she found that it was a box of DIY wool felt kit. She read the instructions and said, "There are 12 little creations I have to make...Oh, my god! What a big ordeal!"<br />
<br />
She was no experience in making wool felt creations. In order not to disappoint her friend, she wanted to have a try. One day, I saw her read the instruction with great patience and started doing her first project. She gradually began to master the way of stabbing after making the second wool felt creation. Anyway, skillfulness in needle felting was not important to her, what she wanted were the enjoyment of the felting process and the end results. You might be curious what was her requirement of the end results. Her required end results were not to make delicate wool felt creations. She just wanted to finish the 12 little wool felt creations and showed to her friend that she appreciated the birthday gift.<br />

These are the adorable wool felt creations that she made. To me. She has done a very good job. See, these are the results of an inexperienced beginner. All the wool felt animals look not bad, am I right? Now you know needle felting is fun and easy to learn. <br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm8gQEX0OVCepMmjywWbiRW6L22hN7Aw5zPrQKC5D_DC3UvfoIqa3XJD2ey4N0_Sf3Nol-5n3f5RmtskR8btZZW1-TdEc-MjC3Sc1otdiaySem32SyFTE8WwI5xFpG4Dofq1ezO5ls-es/s1600/bracelet+size.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm8gQEX0OVCepMmjywWbiRW6L22hN7Aw5zPrQKC5D_DC3UvfoIqa3XJD2ey4N0_Sf3Nol-5n3f5RmtskR8btZZW1-TdEc-MjC3Sc1otdiaySem32SyFTE8WwI5xFpG4Dofq1ezO5ls-es/s1600/bracelet+size.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
How many beads should I string for a bracelet? This is a common question when we DIY a beaded bracelet with elastic cord for someone who just gave us her/his exact wrist size. More specifically, we have to know what the fit someone desires. It can be a snug fit, comfort fit or loose fit. Usually, I will add 1cm-1.5cm to the exact wrist size for a snug fit, 2cm-2.5cm for a comfort fit and 3cm-3.5cm for a loose fit.<br />
<br />
However, the inner circumference can vary somewhat based on the sizes of the beads you are going to use. Bigger beads will create a thick bracelet and small beads will create a thin bracelet in which the inner circumference of a thicker bracelet is smaller than the inner circumference of a thin bracelet, even if the two bracelets are technically the same length. Therefore, you should add more length to the exact wrist size if you are using bigger beads.<br />
<br />
Hope this help.<br />

<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FWMLy6Hex1c/WzJNhrrMxkI/AAAAAAAAFZg/Xqa_R96Qu-YGuVWwrDOFJuXa7uNdUhlDwCLcBGAs/s1600/pillowcase.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="491" data-original-width="740" height="422" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FWMLy6Hex1c/WzJNhrrMxkI/AAAAAAAAFZg/Xqa_R96Qu-YGuVWwrDOFJuXa7uNdUhlDwCLcBGAs/s640/pillowcase.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
There are a few ways to sew a zippered pillowcase. You can sew a pillowcase just with a single piece of fabric or more pieces of different kinds of fabrics, and you can also sew a hidden zipper or an exposed zipper for it depending on your desired design. Today, I am going to use a single piece of fabric and a nylon coil zipper to sew an exposed zipper pillowcase. The pillowcase is sewn to fit the pillow size 16" x 16".<br />
<br />
<br />
<i><u>Materials:</u></i><br />
<i>1. A piece of 33" x 17.5" fabric (included seam allowances)</i><br />
<i>2. A piece of 18" nylon coil zipper</i><br />
<br />
<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<u>Instruction</u></h3>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eaHPmUyulGI/WzJUSRuYVCI/AAAAAAAAFZs/af5-nrBLZRwSl2TDViPAtWHGkaf4CZ-3wCLcBGAs/s1600/folded%2Bedge.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" data-original-height="420" data-original-width="830" height="323" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eaHPmUyulGI/WzJUSRuYVCI/AAAAAAAAFZs/af5-nrBLZRwSl2TDViPAtWHGkaf4CZ-3wCLcBGAs/s640/folded%2Bedge.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
The fabric included 3/4" seam allowance for the long edges and 1/2" for the short edges. To prevent the raw edges from unraveling, we should double fold the raw edges. First of all, place the fabric wrong side up and double fold the short edge (fold the raw edge to the blue seam line and then make the second fold from the seam line). Then sew a straight line along the inner folded edge as shown in the picture. Repeat the same to the other short edge.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SYg-zIOCRfA/WzM9Z7Bz-eI/AAAAAAAAFZ4/jOe0rahgnGoPytRhOpdesTdQPXo3cZzWwCLcBGAs/s1600/folded%2Bedge%2B2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="386" data-original-width="600" height="255" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SYg-zIOCRfA/WzM9Z7Bz-eI/AAAAAAAAFZ4/jOe0rahgnGoPytRhOpdesTdQPXo3cZzWwCLcBGAs/s400/folded%2Bedge%2B2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Next, double fold the long edge. This step is slightly different with the above step. Fold the raw edge to the <b><i>halfway</i></b> of the seam allowance and then make the second fold to the seam line. Sew the hem. Stitch close to the inner folded edge. Repeat the same for the other long edge.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-m4FCvUJDm1c/WzNBSm8g3KI/AAAAAAAAFaE/rV_qcesS5ZQyBW_GTR7a_cop74UXgqYcwCLcBGAs/s1600/install%2Bzipper.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="420" data-original-width="830" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-m4FCvUJDm1c/WzNBSm8g3KI/AAAAAAAAFaE/rV_qcesS5ZQyBW_GTR7a_cop74UXgqYcwCLcBGAs/s640/install%2Bzipper.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Once you have finished sewing the double folded hem, sew the short edges on either side of the zipper teeth (working from the right side of the fabric and zippper). Then, trim away the excess zipper.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9R5h8V7QVNyfeAmyHZEaGaSuRlIdn3rVCwJcWESQGpbuWY7u4BzxO6guam8v3bBBUbTOWldsmBgt5-AgV4X8S7D0jbAwRTfOt37prp7vw45iA5HIJe1ubMqxRrNMYmqAf43K5MT2cujo/s1600/sewbothedges.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="386" data-original-width="600" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9R5h8V7QVNyfeAmyHZEaGaSuRlIdn3rVCwJcWESQGpbuWY7u4BzxO6guam8v3bBBUbTOWldsmBgt5-AgV4X8S7D0jbAwRTfOt37prp7vw45iA5HIJe1ubMqxRrNMYmqAf43K5MT2cujo/s400/sewbothedges.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Unzip the zipper about 2" away and turn the fabric right side together. Make sure the zipper is placed at one side and the zipper will be folded in half as shown in the picture. Sew a straight line along the inner folded edge. After that, sew the opposite edge with the same method.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6XXItqJfGoQ/WzOF7QA2TeI/AAAAAAAAFac/kicZ553eWZgcU_L4h_t9GbigEiPNVW1LgCLcBGAs/s1600/pillowcase-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="386" data-original-width="599" height="257" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6XXItqJfGoQ/WzOF7QA2TeI/AAAAAAAAFac/kicZ553eWZgcU_L4h_t9GbigEiPNVW1LgCLcBGAs/s400/pillowcase-2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Turn the pillowcase right side out and push the corners out. You are done!! You can try to sew your desired pillowcase in other size but this method is not recommanded to sew a pillowcase that the size is smaller than 13" x 13" as it is not easy to install the zipper on a single piece of fabric for a beginner.<br />

Bronze plated beads and charms are great to use as ancient goodies in jewellery making. I am going to use bronze plated alloy beads, charms and findings for my necklace making project this time. Apart from the unique appearance, this necklace features a built-in extender chain that will allow you to adjust the necklace length easily. So, no need worry about the size.<br />
<br />
<br />
<i><u>Materials:</u></i><br />
<i>1. 2mm black Korea Waxed Cords (36cm)</i><br />
<i>2. Bronze plated pendant (1pc)</i><br />
<i>3. Bronze plated mini charm (1pc)</i><br />
<i>4. Bronze plated leather crimps (2pcs)</i><br />
<i>5. Large hole bronze plated tube beads (2pcs)</i><br />
<i>6. Lobster clasp (1pc)</i><br />
<i>7. Jump rings (2pcs)</i><br />
<i>8. Raw bronze plated chain (8cm)</i><br />
<i>9. Bronze plated bail </i><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The materials that showed in the photo are the beads, charms, findings and cords that we have to prepare for this project.<br />
<br />
<br />
<h4 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><u> Instruction</u></span></h4>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UF5dOXSIOJI/WsdxKk0F06I/AAAAAAAAFXw/COZaoLvXTB0feCH0QwXVuEe5kL1gzsXagCLcBGAs/s1600/pendant.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UF5dOXSIOJI/WsdxKk0F06I/AAAAAAAAFXw/COZaoLvXTB0feCH0QwXVuEe5kL1gzsXagCLcBGAs/s400/pendant.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
First of all, get ready a pendant with tube bail and an extender chain. So, join the pendant and the mini charm to the tube bail and the 8cm raw chain respectively. You can use a jump ring to join each set of components together. Anyway, I prefer to hang the mini charm to the twisted link than using a round jump ring. It might be a bit tricky to open and close the closure of a twisted link especially when you want to close the link back to its original shape. Don't worry, you can use two pairs of chain nose pliers to fix it. I believe you can get the extender chain done.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TXdQZBgtUr8/Wsd1ZOxsKVI/AAAAAAAAFX8/QNLLjfOwJFoJtgGgwes_bVbnKiIJ4hEDwCLcBGAs/s1600/necklace-3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="300" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TXdQZBgtUr8/Wsd1ZOxsKVI/AAAAAAAAFX8/QNLLjfOwJFoJtgGgwes_bVbnKiIJ4hEDwCLcBGAs/s400/necklace-3.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Then, string the tube beads and charm onto the 36cm Korea waxed cord as shown in the photo.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EQJ7zwqKdP4/Wsd1zjUcnGI/AAAAAAAAFYA/yE8prClNrGwqrFHdMu9u-9BtKchgqtgXACLcBGAs/s1600/leather%2Bcrimp.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="1220" height="236" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EQJ7zwqKdP4/Wsd1zjUcnGI/AAAAAAAAFYA/yE8prClNrGwqrFHdMu9u-9BtKchgqtgXACLcBGAs/s640/leather%2Bcrimp.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Now, align the cord ends nicely and place the ends into the leather crimp as shown in the first photo. Use pliers to fold down one side of the crimp over the ends, then the other side. Repeat the same step at the other end of the cords.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SXyC-gaDhtE/WshsKKKhdeI/AAAAAAAAFYU/OpaxUGIObFgspKK8soFnBnS8V0iX73zTQCLcBGAs/s1600/lobster%2Bclip.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="454" data-original-width="600" height="302" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SXyC-gaDhtE/WshsKKKhdeI/AAAAAAAAFYU/OpaxUGIObFgspKK8soFnBnS8V0iX73zTQCLcBGAs/s400/lobster%2Bclip.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then, join the lobster clip to one end of the finished cord with a jump ring.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GN-d9AWDkqw/WshyZ-PY6KI/AAAAAAAAFYk/agF_fC7UF2gvofzTOV1x3gDrHjHFByWYACLcBGAs/s1600/extender%2Bchain.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GN-d9AWDkqw/WshyZ-PY6KI/AAAAAAAAFYk/agF_fC7UF2gvofzTOV1x3gDrHjHFByWYACLcBGAs/s400/extender%2Bchain.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
After that, join the extender chain to the other end of the finished cord. I don't use any jump ring to join the components together. As what I have done at the first step, separate the link at the other end of the extender chain and hang it onto the little loop of the leather crimp. Close the closure and done.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

I like bead charms with flower bead caps because they give my designs a professional touch. Today, I am going to share with you how I make a bead charm with flower bead caps. In this project, I am going to use two pieces of flower bead caps in different sizes. The small one will be layered onto the bottom and the big one will be layered onto the top of the bead.<br />
<br />
<br />
<i><span style="font-size: small;"><u>Tools and Materials</u></span></i><br />
<i>1. Chain nose pliers </i><br />
<i>2. Round nose pliers</i><br />
<i>3. Wire cutter</i><br />
<i>4. Bronze flower bead caps in different sizes</i><br />
<i>5. Bronze headpin </i><br />
<i>6. Round bead (10mm)</i><br />
<br />
<i><br /></i>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlHUsfeO6Gne-I6zISzZ8bKus70flz6L2r1_5HSCf5kUk7DdKc1xLJ0xt5JpCnp09Rh0y3FwMSjjLskD-CmuVFsEKO0-20AisBlsg4VQEfPABkzGycqCbccnv_4o0T-D1ukQibFhjt4vc/s1600/tools.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlHUsfeO6Gne-I6zISzZ8bKus70flz6L2r1_5HSCf5kUk7DdKc1xLJ0xt5JpCnp09Rh0y3FwMSjjLskD-CmuVFsEKO0-20AisBlsg4VQEfPABkzGycqCbccnv_4o0T-D1ukQibFhjt4vc/s400/tools.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
The above photo shows the materials and tools for making a bead charm. We use round nose pliers for wire wrapping and forming loops. One side of the nose is tapered round and the other side is a slight concave shape that bends your wire in a curve shape. The wire cutter is to be used to cut the excess wire, whereas we use the chain nose pliers for holding small items and shaping wire. The small bead cap will be put at the bottom of the bead and the big bead cap will be put at the top of the bead. The headpin features a flat head on one end that acts as a stopper, ensuring the bead is secured onto the wire.<br />
<br />
Now, let's turn your favourite bead into a beautiful bead charm just in a few steps.<br />
<br />
<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><u>Instruction</u></span></h3>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XHNPBpE5v_g/WrEZrPLh4vI/AAAAAAAAFU0/ZWGZQoCnwVQHYX1xPTIy7mxxGhXISxndwCLcBGAs/s1600/beadcharm-step1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XHNPBpE5v_g/WrEZrPLh4vI/AAAAAAAAFU0/ZWGZQoCnwVQHYX1xPTIy7mxxGhXISxndwCLcBGAs/s320/beadcharm-step1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Thread the headpin through the small bead cap, bead and then big bead cap one after another as shown in the photo. Ensure the correct order is followed.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dEbvSvJmoR4/WrEZo6Q0TmI/AAAAAAAAFUw/wckQnXunb2Ir1zRjMKeG2onJUDRWi2kVACLcBGAs/s1600/beadcharm-step2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dEbvSvJmoR4/WrEZo6Q0TmI/AAAAAAAAFUw/wckQnXunb2Ir1zRjMKeG2onJUDRWi2kVACLcBGAs/s320/beadcharm-step2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Using chain nose pliers, bend the wire to the side of the bead to form a right angle (90 degrees).</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BTP551rO_NA/WrJfeUHWfOI/AAAAAAAAFVg/SyDh_pSSf-sqNnfqgb-c6GUyooHy7QRtQCLcBGAs/s1600/beadcharm-step3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BTP551rO_NA/WrJfeUHWfOI/AAAAAAAAFVg/SyDh_pSSf-sqNnfqgb-c6GUyooHy7QRtQCLcBGAs/s320/beadcharm-step3.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Using wire cutter, cut the wire about 10mm away from the bead.</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh36jL_ogCi3-8CfYr_pH8ONJ3bdXb9egYfkBTUwGUVaqjTNEjjQT3S9HfFpE-85cjQKAsEJ7UWs_-tQf-FsyrnJzcnbL7Zkwrm0xD8y6JsBJHgT8YW3KcdOqcJuB7OIgjs4kuTjjyjnvA/s1600/beadcharm-step4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="436" data-original-width="600" height="232" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh36jL_ogCi3-8CfYr_pH8ONJ3bdXb9egYfkBTUwGUVaqjTNEjjQT3S9HfFpE-85cjQKAsEJ7UWs_-tQf-FsyrnJzcnbL7Zkwrm0xD8y6JsBJHgT8YW3KcdOqcJuB7OIgjs4kuTjjyjnvA/s320/beadcharm-step4.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Then, use the round nose pliers to grip the end of the wire and press the end tighly as shown in the photo.</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKWvvfDUw0ROTiO8q7OBcawZVJxBWnJGK9OyEvGPVAQ8suIAhOvxP6W1SpsM1GpoyWYpmd_0mBXTkR9jqRN-vXz1p_Hsx1gu3x89HEDgncOp4L5ulx1n4b-4gZhzjIUDyohJU1COA49cs/s1600/beadcharm-step5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKWvvfDUw0ROTiO8q7OBcawZVJxBWnJGK9OyEvGPVAQ8suIAhOvxP6W1SpsM1GpoyWYpmd_0mBXTkR9jqRN-vXz1p_Hsx1gu3x89HEDgncOp4L5ulx1n4b-4gZhzjIUDyohJU1COA49cs/s320/beadcharm-step5.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Now, roll the pliers towards the bead. Usually, I have to roll the pliers twice to make a full loop. If the loop is not at the center of the bead, you can use the chain nose pliers to center it<br />
<br />

I wished to make some beaded bracelets. Ridiculously, I didn't think about the designs for the bracelets when I was choosing the beads. I just kept an eye on the colors and distinctive patterns of those beautiful quartz gems. After that day, I just kept all my beads in a box and took them out to admire their distinctive patterns at times. I didn't take any action to make any bracelet because I got no idea at all. One day, when I was shopping online, I found that there were some fascinating alloy with bronze-plated beads. They have a sense of ancient style. At that moment, an idea flowed through my mind! I knew what I wanted!! Without thinking too much, I ordered some bronze-plated beads and other materials for making bead charms as well as some necessary tools like flat nose pliers and round nose pliers from an online shop. Finally, my bracelets were born.<br />
<br />
Today, I am not going to write any tutorial on how to create a bead charm bracelet. I just prefer to display my finished pieces here. If you are looking for a tutorial how to make a bead charm, <a href="https://rainbowscrafts-n-creations.blogspot.my/2018/03/how-to-make-bead-charm.html" target="_blank">please click here</a>.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5sfIyjTNrTm0pf4taWLPe8wYhxJ83zPSssJZk16GlsDfJ8sDOb1Jgl1aayKfVeX9TbGK3Qb5a4a6Lkzl9n22lKo_zHndpQQO5HOcVSyMZyxda8yY3lWqiMY8eg2re6d5RN8l9rDcwVD0/s1600/bolsters.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="375" data-original-width="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5sfIyjTNrTm0pf4taWLPe8wYhxJ83zPSssJZk16GlsDfJ8sDOb1Jgl1aayKfVeX9TbGK3Qb5a4a6Lkzl9n22lKo_zHndpQQO5HOcVSyMZyxda8yY3lWqiMY8eg2re6d5RN8l9rDcwVD0/s1600/bolsters.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
Before we start making the bolster cover, we have to know the circumference and the length of the bolster. If you want a spacious bolster ,add 3 inches more for the circumference and 2 inches more for the length. The correct way to get the length of the cover is making measurement from the middle point at the top of one end to the middle point at the top of the opposite end of the bolster. The width of the rectangle is equal to the circumference. Base on the measurement, draw a rectangle on a piece of paper.Then cut and put the pattern on the wrong side of the fabric. Draw along the pattern with fabric pen, leave three-quarters (3/4) inch seam allowance for the long sides and two and a half (2-1/2) inches for the short sides. Then cut out the fabric piece.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LTnUmlfwr-g/WiPx-H0rgNI/AAAAAAAAFPs/lM27TTVtq1YsAXGFCL9IcPzCB8P71UMHACLcBGAs/s1600/bolster%2Bcover%2B-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="375" data-original-width="500" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LTnUmlfwr-g/WiPx-H0rgNI/AAAAAAAAFPs/lM27TTVtq1YsAXGFCL9IcPzCB8P71UMHACLcBGAs/s320/bolster%2Bcover%2B-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
1. We will start sewing at the long side. Place the fabric piece wrong side up. Double fold the long side to make a quarter inch hem (this is to prevent fabric fraying). Repeat the same for the other side.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SqTnd3_cPiE/WiVQeHJHuJI/AAAAAAAAFRI/QCVvJ9Ii9RcNEq0sa3qjnkLfMgtZucRHQCLcBGAs/s1600/bolster%2Bcover-2a.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="226" data-original-width="598" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SqTnd3_cPiE/WiVQeHJHuJI/AAAAAAAAFRI/QCVvJ9Ii9RcNEq0sa3qjnkLfMgtZucRHQCLcBGAs/s1600/bolster%2Bcover-2a.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
2. Fold the fabric hem to hem (lengthwise) and right side facing in. Then sew a seam along the folded edge as shows in the picture. Once finish, press the hems open either with your thumb-nail or a hot iron. you will get a tube shaped case.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VNvzWy5lkEE/WiVLtneXfjI/AAAAAAAAFQ0/d_Ngx1Ek2DkvhQfJ0VP5_O9YjQHwZKWxACLcBGAs/s1600/bolster%2Bcover-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="227" data-original-width="600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VNvzWy5lkEE/WiVLtneXfjI/AAAAAAAAFQ0/d_Ngx1Ek2DkvhQfJ0VP5_O9YjQHwZKWxACLcBGAs/s1600/bolster%2Bcover-3.jpg" /></a></div>
4. It is time to make tunnels(casings) for drawstring. Double fold the short edge to make a bigger hem. The first fold should be half inch wide and the second fold should be around one inch wide. Pin the hem. Mark the opening as shown in the picture. The size of the opening should be around one inch wide. Then, sew the hem about 1/8 inch from the folded edge. You should start sewing from the second mark and stop sewing at the first mark so the opening will be formed automatically. Repeat the step for the other short edge.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-khggMu3c8Tg/WiVPuUZhcJI/AAAAAAAAFRA/zNnE1X2FIhkc5coPUwWgLUf8c9M2Fl46wCLcBGAs/s1600/bolster%2Bcocer-4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="375" data-original-width="500" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-khggMu3c8Tg/WiVPuUZhcJI/AAAAAAAAFRA/zNnE1X2FIhkc5coPUwWgLUf8c9M2Fl46wCLcBGAs/s320/bolster%2Bcocer-4.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
5. Thread a length of drawstring or ribbon through each tunnel. You can use a safety pin to lead the drawstring through.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrhWrVdV9SN9ONa5qTOJwHA9fNyfLFz2Bs0Xk67jF7l9BH0T2TF-pk3G2jkyFx3YsHg-Xkg-R6n6ne-nbsa7UOxI8p62oNA4dDDrIh-LqTe65Ch1m4CeMK9ZjQBIoBQP-q3EFUusPG3FY/s1600/bolster+cover-5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="375" data-original-width="500" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrhWrVdV9SN9ONa5qTOJwHA9fNyfLFz2Bs0Xk67jF7l9BH0T2TF-pk3G2jkyFx3YsHg-Xkg-R6n6ne-nbsa7UOxI8p62oNA4dDDrIh-LqTe65Ch1m4CeMK9ZjQBIoBQP-q3EFUusPG3FY/s320/bolster+cover-5.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
6. Now, put on the cover for your bolster, pull the drawstring and tie in a bow. Then keep the bow inside the bolster cover so it always looks neat.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiruy1gXOBBEDK2mYrTOkpQbBxBnN7cDHafw80a9TjAQbzfLevfBt4-FtqdJXcTriZnRin19bHLqE6akM3k0ZDyOzu5SvrITKOgEvlx6ziTHezEb56tbJz-61DvTJQY-0pAsRVkPMM2LGA/s1600/sliding+square+knot+finishing+for+cord+jewellery.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="375" data-original-width="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiruy1gXOBBEDK2mYrTOkpQbBxBnN7cDHafw80a9TjAQbzfLevfBt4-FtqdJXcTriZnRin19bHLqE6akM3k0ZDyOzu5SvrITKOgEvlx6ziTHezEb56tbJz-61DvTJQY-0pAsRVkPMM2LGA/s1600/sliding+square+knot+finishing+for+cord+jewellery.jpg" /></a></div>
Sliding square knot closure is a great adjustable closure for your DIY cord bracelets, necklaces and anklets. I like this adjustable closure because it looks neat and tidy. To make a sliding square knot closure, first of all we must know how to make a square knot. In short, it name says it all. This closure is created by making a row of square knots. For those who already know the technique to make the knot will be very easy for you to create a sliding square knot closure for any of your cord jewellery projects. The size of the sliding closure will be determined by the type of cord or string that you are using and the number of square knots that you are going to make. You can also try to make the sliding knot with a single twine or double-twine, both of them will give you different looks and feels. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><u>Instruction:</u></span></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Lvj4XUlGLKE/WW33I6JzJEI/AAAAAAAAFOY/Gek1UbAb5aoq9vtU6gdMumcvSUzymSYTACLcBGAs/s1600/knot-step%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="375" data-original-width="500" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Lvj4XUlGLKE/WW33I6JzJEI/AAAAAAAAFOY/Gek1UbAb5aoq9vtU6gdMumcvSUzymSYTACLcBGAs/s320/knot-step%2B1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Put both ends of the twine jewellery in parallel. Then, cut a strand of tying cord about 12" long and put the cord underneath the two ends as shown in the photo. Both parallel ends will be the center cords. If you want the ends to be more decorative, you can string a bead for each end before you make the sliding closure.I didn't string any bead for the ends, but I made a simple knot for each end once I finished the sliding knot.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/--yoYeg1hirA/WW34IhRto1I/AAAAAAAAFOg/8bVMm8EsclMprG4Aq5QixfSv5-_0pBMGACLcBGAs/s1600/knot-step%2B2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="375" data-original-width="500" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/--yoYeg1hirA/WW34IhRto1I/AAAAAAAAFOg/8bVMm8EsclMprG4Aq5QixfSv5-_0pBMGACLcBGAs/s320/knot-step%2B2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Now, begin the knot with the left strand. Pass the left strand over the center cords and lay it underneath the right strand, making a loose loop.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0G-ktU9E-ybmZDxm636PPrcWDBPZvwZrBe4HcCctybeTOwhNAM5tUQum6W0U_9erjTz5YmPM_US0xc6LP6PPJb4VJY5vdaqEjOc2-KonCqTzfI2w7kRA4P_rdH6JPRF8-XIGzPKyEoBE/s1600/knot-step+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="374" data-original-width="500" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0G-ktU9E-ybmZDxm636PPrcWDBPZvwZrBe4HcCctybeTOwhNAM5tUQum6W0U_9erjTz5YmPM_US0xc6LP6PPJb4VJY5vdaqEjOc2-KonCqTzfI2w7kRA4P_rdH6JPRF8-XIGzPKyEoBE/s320/knot-step+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Then, pick up the right strand and pass it up through the loop that you made on the left from underneath the left strand and the center cords.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OHWy10AkZrY/WW34po00aMI/AAAAAAAAFOo/me4WUSz-JOwjlW76_iCOp-GZO0zmO4cOwCLcBGAs/s1600/knot-step%2B4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="375" data-original-width="500" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OHWy10AkZrY/WW34po00aMI/AAAAAAAAFOo/me4WUSz-JOwjlW76_iCOp-GZO0zmO4cOwCLcBGAs/s320/knot-step%2B4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Pull the left and right strand. The center cords will be captured inside. This is just a half square knot. A square knot is not complete yet. There is a few steps to go.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-R_IwKPUeid0/WW346FtUDRI/AAAAAAAAFOs/_LfAPxaVlv42akn8AdS8hpTnzoErNNSJQCLcBGAs/s1600/knot-step%2B5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="375" data-original-width="500" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-R_IwKPUeid0/WW346FtUDRI/AAAAAAAAFOs/_LfAPxaVlv42akn8AdS8hpTnzoErNNSJQCLcBGAs/s320/knot-step%2B5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Let's continue to the second part. Pick up the right strand. Pass the right strand over the center cords and lay it underneath the left strand, making a loose loop.<br />
<br />
<br />

Then, pick up the left strand and pass it up through the loop that you made on the right from underneath the right strand and the center cords.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZwpiATQI7R0/WW362nQQ9eI/AAAAAAAAFO0/pergQ2yTvNsvgCdMQ4Zc3yrpKO06ZxDHwCLcBGAs/s1600/knot-step%2B7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="300" data-original-width="400" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZwpiATQI7R0/WW362nQQ9eI/AAAAAAAAFO0/pergQ2yTvNsvgCdMQ4Zc3yrpKO06ZxDHwCLcBGAs/s320/knot-step%2B7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Pull the left and right strand. The center cords will be captured inside again. Now, a square knot is completed.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-s5GX8eABJxg/WW37CmWIelI/AAAAAAAAFO4/fEBkCjJc2RM8STjz2t9HmT_ZL2m-M_oAACLcBGAs/s1600/knot-step%2B8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="339" data-original-width="452" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-s5GX8eABJxg/WW37CmWIelI/AAAAAAAAFO4/fEBkCjJc2RM8STjz2t9HmT_ZL2m-M_oAACLcBGAs/s320/knot-step%2B8.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Keep on making square knots until you get a desired length. Cut the left and right strand, melt the tips with lighter and press the melted tips against the knots to stop it from unraveling.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h0-J47ZRL-s/WS7BkBf7HsI/AAAAAAAAFN4/LxUmXZ60KyQmOd2B2skzWqjypl_OmRLgACLcB/s1600/twine%2Bcraft.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="491" data-original-width="500" height="392" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h0-J47ZRL-s/WS7BkBf7HsI/AAAAAAAAFN4/LxUmXZ60KyQmOd2B2skzWqjypl_OmRLgACLcB/s400/twine%2Bcraft.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Do you have any unwanted items like empty bottles, instant noodles cups or cans? What would you do with these unwanted items? Throw them away or keep them for other purposes? We usually throw away what we no longer make use of. Do you know these "useless" items can be used to make a lot of great DIY projects?<br />
<br />
I have some empty instant noodles cups stuffed into a drawer that I purposely keep for my DIY projects. I used these empty cups to make two rustic-looking plant pots in different designs. This is an inexpensive and easy craft, you can finish it in less than half an hour's time.<br />
<br />
You can grow flowers or herbs in the twine-wrapped plant pot. Anyway, I prefer a low-maintenance greenery like a cactus.<br />
<br />
Let's start with the simple materials that stated below...<br />
<br />
<br />
<u><i>Materials:</i></u><i> </i><br />
<i>1. Empty cups/ bottles</i><br />
<i>2. Twine</i><br />
<i>3. Super glue/ hot glue</i><br />
<i>4 Self-adhesive tape (ribbon)</i><br />
<i>5. Buttons </i><br />
<br />
This craft does not require any special skill. What you need to do is wrap the cup in twine and put on your decorative accessories.<br />
<br />
By referring to the above photo, you can see two different designs of twine-wrapped plant pots. The first one is decorated with a piece of self-adhesive tape and a twine-braided bow. You can braid the twine and knot the both ends before you tie it on the pot. The second pot is decorated with a piece of self-adhesive tape and a button flower. It is very easy to make a button flower. You just need to get ready four pieces of twine and a four-hole button. Do cross stitch on top of the button and make two bows with the twine's' ends at the bottom of the button. Arrange the loops evenly and attach to your desired point of the pot.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJwJECy32xTEDilR-IOWeFowd_9Yx5r6G54jAUaJRfb2ZFEr8hUlBPQ1ivDWrqhPd4lIsuaNQt8-zCX7JLy0H2ZJk1Qf1SMvtM5i-RO9uU_uSGTp435z4SlqJy-V1I5FVYWEcOTjqoJ7Q/s1600/twine-wrapped+bottle.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="332" data-original-width="500" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJwJECy32xTEDilR-IOWeFowd_9Yx5r6G54jAUaJRfb2ZFEr8hUlBPQ1ivDWrqhPd4lIsuaNQt8-zCX7JLy0H2ZJk1Qf1SMvtM5i-RO9uU_uSGTp435z4SlqJy-V1I5FVYWEcOTjqoJ7Q/s320/twine-wrapped+bottle.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The above twine-wrapped bottles are my daughter's masterpieces. These are her own ideas. She finished this project during her school holiday a few months ago. Making this kind of craft is simple, easy and inexpensive. Furthermore, it is suitable for younger children and adults. Do you agree on training a child to reuse some unwanted items is a great way to reduce the environmental issues? Let's make some unique home decors for ourselves and at the same time make some effort to protect our earth.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPsUrb8wTrZu0cXvslPpHtAQ81ve_OkeWS9JnfHN0nL3ENX5ByJusfvvKAY-39Aky1GftRAwCYCgLsSOv52KCOF-CCGlSYE3zF2hONSdpT9xCWU0aPvqxuWbbwcAfJ1HN_5N5bb17IX50/s1600/two+rabbits.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPsUrb8wTrZu0cXvslPpHtAQ81ve_OkeWS9JnfHN0nL3ENX5ByJusfvvKAY-39Aky1GftRAwCYCgLsSOv52KCOF-CCGlSYE3zF2hONSdpT9xCWU0aPvqxuWbbwcAfJ1HN_5N5bb17IX50/s1600/two+rabbits.jpg" /></a></div>
Sock rabbit is my recent project. I did think of making a sock rabbit quite some time ago but never took action to make a try. One day of last month, one of the members in my facebook group requested me to make two sock rabbits for her. I promised her and charged her a friendship price. Her request gave me a motive force to make a start. Hmm... I should thank her for giving me a push.<br />
<br />
I like big ears rabbit, so do you? This project is easy to pull off. You will need 3 mid-calf socks to create a sock rabbit. If you have some unwanted or mismatched socks, now you can recycle those socks and turn it into a sock rabbit. If you think you want to make a pair of brand new sock rabbits as a gift for someone, then you should buy three pairs of mid-calf socks. Let refer to the material list below and follow the guided picture and instruction to get it done.<br />
<br />
<br />
<u>Materials: </u><br />
1. Three mid-calf socks<br />
2. Two shank buttons (for eyes)<br />
3. Decorative button (for shirt)<br />
4. Felt cloth (for nose)<br />
5. Poly-fill material<br />
6. Matching embroidery thread and sewing thread<br />
7. Ribbon (optional)<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Zh7prMdeZ2s/WNybMWw-O-I/AAAAAAAAFMU/pCzj9dLBoZAK3PwBmq2zZKPs8qZxoM5EACLcB/s1600/parts.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Zh7prMdeZ2s/WNybMWw-O-I/AAAAAAAAFMU/pCzj9dLBoZAK3PwBmq2zZKPs8qZxoM5EACLcB/s400/parts.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
First, turn a sock to the wrong side with the heel facing up. Lay the heel part towards the calf part and sew a curved line along the curved heel part. After that cut it into 3 parts as shown in the photo. There are the parts for rabbit's shirt, head, and one of the ear. Set the parts aside.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1Cs3peigRNOZur2_CozKt53jlc8_DxfBRqC1VK8idWhjuRwRm4CVdlBEWPXp8E0T52NK5vaFIswZqHIShF53cmHzckmnLgUJvPVpmifpWoDkKxFmUhD8iDel9oyxcV18mQ7xZ6hed0MA/s1600/rabbit%2527s+body+and+legs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1Cs3peigRNOZur2_CozKt53jlc8_DxfBRqC1VK8idWhjuRwRm4CVdlBEWPXp8E0T52NK5vaFIswZqHIShF53cmHzckmnLgUJvPVpmifpWoDkKxFmUhD8iDel9oyxcV18mQ7xZ6hed0MA/s400/rabbit%2527s+body+and+legs.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Turn the second sock to the wrong side with the heel facing up. Draw the pattern as shown in the photo onto your sock. Follow the yellow line and sew, then cut out the pattern by following the red line. It is about 1cm apart from the yellow line. Now you should have two different parts, one is for the body and legs and the small part is reserved for making a tail.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aWmlpQT7fxw/WN5Lhf3VcfI/AAAAAAAAFM4/atI56EX32hceTJAsj6X4IT92_3r7jh55QCLcB/s1600/hand%2Band%2Bsleeve.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aWmlpQT7fxw/WN5Lhf3VcfI/AAAAAAAAFM4/atI56EX32hceTJAsj6X4IT92_3r7jh55QCLcB/s400/hand%2Band%2Bsleeve.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Turn the third sock wrong side out ( the photo shown above is not with the wrong side out, I forgot to turn the sock wrong side out when I took the photo, sorry for that 😅). Then, put the ear part which cut out from the first sock on the third sock as shown in the photo in order to cut out the other ear part in the same size. After you have cut out the ear piece, draw the hands and the sleeves patterns (the yellow line) on the other cut out piece. Try to push the front heel layer towards the back layer as deep as possible so you will have enough place to draw the hands. Follow the yellow lines and sew. Once you have finished, cut out the pieces follow the red lines.<br />
<br />
<br />
<b><i>Follow the instruction below to create a sock rabbit step by step: </i></b><br />
<br />
<i><b>Step 1.</b></i> Start to make the bear's head. Turn the head piece to the right side and stuff up the head with poly-fill material, then run stitches along the raw edge. Before pulling it tight, fold the raw edge inwards. Tighten up the opening by pulling the thread fully and then make a few stitches across, knot and cut thread.<br />
<br />
<i><b>Step 2. </b></i>Turn the body part to the right side. Stuff up the body. Then, run stitches along the raw edge.Tighten up the opening. Do it the same way as you made for the head. Now, join the head and the body together with a <a href="http://rainbowscrafts-n-creations.blogspot.com/2013/11/slip-stitch-blind-stitch.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: #cc0000;"><i><b>slip stitch</b></i></span></a>.<br />
<br />
<b><i>Step 3. </i></b>Turn the shirt to the right side. Put on the shirt with the raw edge facing the legs and fold the raw edge inwards.<br />
<br />
<i><b>Step 4. </b></i>Turn the ear piece right side out and roll it up. Secure the base of the rolled edge with needle and thread. Do the same for the other ear and attach the ears to the head.<br />
<br />
<i><b>Step 5. </b></i><b> </b>Turn the hand piece right side out, stuff up and close the opening. Press the point near to the opening to form a flat-shaped upper arm. Repeat the steps for the other hand and sew the hands to the body<br />
<br />
<i><b>Step 6.</b></i> Put on the sleeves and secure them in place. Then sew the decorative butoon on the shirt.<br />
<br />
<i><b>Step 7.</b></i> Take the tail portion and simply cut out a circle. Run stitches along the raw edge and put some poly-fill material on it. Pull the thread tight to close the opening. Don't cut the thread, sew it to the lower back with the same thread.<br />
<br />
<b><i>Step 8. </i></b>Sew the eyes on the face.<br />
<br />
<b><i>Step 9.</i></b> Cut out a nose (small love shape) from a piece of felt cloth and sew it on the face.<br />
<br />
<b><i>Step 10.</i></b> Sew the mouth with the matching embroidery thread. Done!!<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/--0IbYLKSX_I/WHC7RVam6pI/AAAAAAAAFJE/k1jgEtyAxtsNZFthfxvYUkKNroy2Z_pKwCLcB/s1600/a%2Bsimple%2Bwater%2Bbottle%2Bbag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/--0IbYLKSX_I/WHC7RVam6pI/AAAAAAAAFJE/k1jgEtyAxtsNZFthfxvYUkKNroy2Z_pKwCLcB/s1600/a%2Bsimple%2Bwater%2Bbottle%2Bbag.jpg" /></a></div>
A new semester has begun. My youngest girl asked for a new water bottle bag to carry her new water bottle since last two weeks. She had a few requirements for her new water bottle bag. It must be a stiff and round bag, the height of the bag must be a little higher than her bottle and she didn't want the ends of the strap to be visible on the outer bag. In fact, this is a very simple water bottle. Besides her requirements, I wanted to try out a new method to sew the inner bag. Therefore, I had spent some time to think about the sewing method. I am not sure whether the method that I was using is a good method for you. Basically, I just want to share with you a new method that I had tried out.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<i><u>Materials:</u></i><br />
<i>1. Linen fabric (for outer bag and strap)</i><br />
<i>2. Lining fabric (for inner bag)</i><br />
<i>3. Non-fusible woven interfacing</i><br />
<i>4. Batting</i><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><u><b>Making a Water Bottle Bag Step by Step</b></u></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-snf_2GgK4a8/WHDEsTBUXbI/AAAAAAAAFKQ/CjaGsILytiQ96P2bpGRlMzWckLxYgxGGgCLcB/s1600/water%2Bbottle%2Bbase.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-snf_2GgK4a8/WHDEsTBUXbI/AAAAAAAAFKQ/CjaGsILytiQ96P2bpGRlMzWckLxYgxGGgCLcB/s1600/water%2Bbottle%2Bbase.jpg" /></a></div>
According to your water bottle size, cut out a piece of <i><b>round linen fabric</b> </i>with 1.5cm seam allowance. Then, cut out a piece of round interfacing and batting without seam allowance. Place the wrong side of the linen fabric facing up, sandwich the batting between linen fabric and the interfacing. Top stitch the layers with three circles so that the layers can be held in place. This is the base of the outer bag. After you have finished this, cut out a piece of <b><i>round lining fabric</i></b> exactly the same as the round linen fabric. Set these two bases aside and continue sewing the body part.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JNl2oIkQqfo/WHDIdTeIoSI/AAAAAAAAFKk/RLJakUztKBQ7yrOywdqYZREcPVDo0ZDwQCLcB/s1600/top%2Bhem.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JNl2oIkQqfo/WHDIdTeIoSI/AAAAAAAAFKk/RLJakUztKBQ7yrOywdqYZREcPVDo0ZDwQCLcB/s1600/top%2Bhem.jpg" /></a></div>
Now, it is the time to sew the bag's body. You need one piece of rectangle linen fabric, one piece of rectangle lining fabric and one piece of rectangle non-fusible woven interfacing. The widths of the linen and lining fabrics should be equal to the circumference of the round linen base with batting and interfacing (the round fabric with allowance) that you made just now and the heights should be your desired height plus 5.5cm (4cm for the top seam allowance and 1.5cm for the bottom seam allowance). Then, cut out a piece of rectangle non-fusible woven interfacing<b><i> without seam allowance </i></b>and sew onto the wrong side of the linen fabric. I just sewed a horizontal line at the bottom to held the interfacing in place. Make a double fold hem for each top edge by folding the fabric 1cm towards the wrong side and fold it over 3cm again to encase the raw edge inside of the hem. Pin the hem in place and sew the hem about 0.2cm from the double folded edge.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sQjLsRUNhuU/WHDIPllqmNI/AAAAAAAAFKc/6xlZZ8drRiMsJ-YVuksccIqe-SJcWSa4gCLcB/s1600/combine%2Bthe%2Bfabrics.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sQjLsRUNhuU/WHDIPllqmNI/AAAAAAAAFKc/6xlZZ8drRiMsJ-YVuksccIqe-SJcWSa4gCLcB/s1600/combine%2Bthe%2Bfabrics.jpg" /></a></div>
After you have finished the top edges, place the two fabrics wrong sides together and align the top edges properly. Then, sew a vertical line at the middle of the layers. Start sewing from the <b><i>double folded edge (about 3cm from the top) </i></b>and stop before the 1.5cm seam allowance. Please don't start sewing the straight line from the hem top, just leave about 3cm from the top edge unsewn. Then, fold the lining fabric right sides together as shown in the photo. Sew a 1.5cm seam along the edge. Repeat this step for the outer fabric.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYLQZB7BY1XpVxZ1SwpkVeHCpbRG5G9suX_189OppfF2I_mydmGOSGtt0t0AqGx-7Ulhv7rsuN1v9q5nQZc3TfmsTE0zs7JbcnJZle0QXKq-lhnrmJ86-RE5y99-yWwjnnz1cJ-F5mXiw/s1600/outer+and+inner+bag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYLQZB7BY1XpVxZ1SwpkVeHCpbRG5G9suX_189OppfF2I_mydmGOSGtt0t0AqGx-7Ulhv7rsuN1v9q5nQZc3TfmsTE0zs7JbcnJZle0QXKq-lhnrmJ86-RE5y99-yWwjnnz1cJ-F5mXiw/s1600/outer+and+inner+bag.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now, you should have two fabric tubes as shown in the photo. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ci_4kmXahKs/WHDcVmBInTI/AAAAAAAAFK0/I3UKmVZwxWcGNtwY5Loja98Hw-4eGgnmwCLcB/s1600/inner%2Bbase.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ci_4kmXahKs/WHDcVmBInTI/AAAAAAAAFK0/I3UKmVZwxWcGNtwY5Loja98Hw-4eGgnmwCLcB/s320/inner%2Bbase.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
After that, pin the round lining fabric that you made onto the bottom of the lining fabric tube as shown in the photo and sew along the round edge. Repeat this step for the outer fabric tube. Once you have finished sewing the two bases, turn the outer bag right side out. Automatically, the inner bag will be fit into the outer bag.</div>

Lastly, make a long shoulder strap with the linen fabric. The length of the strap would be your desired measurement. Align the top edges properly and pin each end of the strap between the layers at the appropriate position. Sew the top edges together with a 0.2cm seam and sew a triangle at where you inserted the strap ends. </div>

<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tbfXNdGA98c/WFPkvoMeEnI/AAAAAAAAFIA/JF51RxR-IpMv5bMJpOVAc84w17nYTdjaQCLcB/s1600/criss%2Bcross%2Bweave%2Bbag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tbfXNdGA98c/WFPkvoMeEnI/AAAAAAAAFIA/JF51RxR-IpMv5bMJpOVAc84w17nYTdjaQCLcB/s1600/criss%2Bcross%2Bweave%2Bbag.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
When the black and white stripes meet the criss-cross weave, a wonderful creation begins, which together with the solid black, bring out a beautiful integration and impression. Do you like the criss-cross weave pattern? Do you like a bag with a big bow? If you do, just go through the steps below. I hope this will give your project more "Oomph"!!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><u>How to Make a Criss-cross Weave Bag Step by Step</u></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-c7jBwdiblb0/WFKNtEHD_DI/AAAAAAAAFHU/otui4yq7vJwQ69EjsTMvfdjiRhQxFCFngCLcB/s1600/straps.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-c7jBwdiblb0/WFKNtEHD_DI/AAAAAAAAFHU/otui4yq7vJwQ69EjsTMvfdjiRhQxFCFngCLcB/s320/straps.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
First of all, make some fabric straps of different colors. I made 16 pieces of striped straps and 2 pieces of black straps the same width for this project. Anyway, you can use your desired number, size and color of straps. A different number, size and color of straps will form a different pattern. You must be sure the length of the straps are long enough for the vertical and horizontal weaving according to your desired size of bag.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-o1L6RLW3nuv3VYHsNXgF5vFFbsJsa0fvdjvpvTV_ULiWeAZqmcT_uApAyfecKRJiRCOvDmjTMShNPKvdrzUZLY1qJE5VBPvRZFNWx6Ov4sUERwmxkau6Xo7SaJjPKt8UPVoSST91Guc/s1600/weaved+piece.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-o1L6RLW3nuv3VYHsNXgF5vFFbsJsa0fvdjvpvTV_ULiWeAZqmcT_uApAyfecKRJiRCOvDmjTMShNPKvdrzUZLY1qJE5VBPvRZFNWx6Ov4sUERwmxkau6Xo7SaJjPKt8UPVoSST91Guc/s320/weaved+piece.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Weave a cross pattern using the straps as shown in the photo. Making sure the weaved piece is big enough to make your desired bag. If you think that it is not your desired size, just add or deduct a few straps. Don't worry about the uneven edges, you can trim the edges later.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6M7B4_KXUnE/WFKNl3RZJDI/AAAAAAAAFHE/7UDj7QRMnzEdKqDr2Djqulrs6zFH00wYgCLcB/s1600/cross%2Bstitch%2Bthe%2Bcross%2Bpoint.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6M7B4_KXUnE/WFKNl3RZJDI/AAAAAAAAFHE/7UDj7QRMnzEdKqDr2Djqulrs6zFH00wYgCLcB/s320/cross%2Bstitch%2Bthe%2Bcross%2Bpoint.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Sew the cross-weave pattern in place by making a few cross-stitches at every intersecting point at the back of the layer.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DGS4BI6I2tc/WFKNhVHvi7I/AAAAAAAAFG8/n7nEzzuucqwnfccguNaGJr-tv43Hr2qLACLcB/s1600/back%2Blayer.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DGS4BI6I2tc/WFKNhVHvi7I/AAAAAAAAFG8/n7nEzzuucqwnfccguNaGJr-tv43Hr2qLACLcB/s320/back%2Blayer.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Now, cut out a piece of interfacing according to your desired bag size, then iron the interfacing piece onto the wrong side of the back piece. Please remember to add the seam allowance for the back piece before you cut the piece out. My desired bag size is about 11" x 13" so I cut out a piece of 12" x 14" back fabric. Then, place the cross-weave piece with the back piece right sides together, sew the both long sides and the bottom with a 1/2" seam. When you have finished sewing, turn the outer bag right side out.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZHhZ_G1ql7_V8eSIbI5M0gSFUAqLbx0gC5Rfbm9NlzlUxV8W8eclGLQGyEaMAzxslmd4EOBrb5ZhzXYRDo75yqBWNUeZ1Fo2HxgkPUtCO72ZyStPlIXWPK7JMbnwhwxUICFd5nkALdJk/s1600/trim+the+top+edge.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZHhZ_G1ql7_V8eSIbI5M0gSFUAqLbx0gC5Rfbm9NlzlUxV8W8eclGLQGyEaMAzxslmd4EOBrb5ZhzXYRDo75yqBWNUeZ1Fo2HxgkPUtCO72ZyStPlIXWPK7JMbnwhwxUICFd5nkALdJk/s320/trim+the+top+edge.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Trim the top edge so it looks straight and neat. Then, set it aside and continue to the next step.</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8F5TWSpctf5UBZ7ro30t_hI94VdPfRp5XaVHdN85YRYAr_SfXqPu4yh4UzpP5w40LQWagDD8lVRkhRbm2OCl4yNDTBFZ97woUiL24OsXebq-5KBSA5J_WcrCRI8G-CkdYHjae7GPTgOc/s1600/lining+piece.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8F5TWSpctf5UBZ7ro30t_hI94VdPfRp5XaVHdN85YRYAr_SfXqPu4yh4UzpP5w40LQWagDD8lVRkhRbm2OCl4yNDTBFZ97woUiL24OsXebq-5KBSA5J_WcrCRI8G-CkdYHjae7GPTgOc/s320/lining+piece.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
You can now make an inner bag as shown in the photo above. The size of the inner bag should be the same as the outer bag. I sew a pocket on the right side of the fabric before I make the inner bag. Then sew the inner bag as you sewed the outer bag but you have to leave an opening for turning.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JDx8uB_FZ0U/WFKNjYg_syI/AAAAAAAAFHA/Jej-Y5zJQmQSoLd7Wl0edP-2ylAD6djHwCLcB/s1600/combine%2Btwo%2Bbags.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JDx8uB_FZ0U/WFKNjYg_syI/AAAAAAAAFHA/Jej-Y5zJQmQSoLd7Wl0edP-2ylAD6djHwCLcB/s320/combine%2Btwo%2Bbags.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Insert the outer bag into the inner bag with the right sides together. Align the top edges properly and pin the edges together.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OujFO6lp_dI/WFKNnaP0qdI/AAAAAAAAFHI/hSuP-G9s5tIH2WM77lSdiLOI9dTZn-uugCLcB/s1600/sew%2Baround%2Bthe%2Btop%2Bedge.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OujFO6lp_dI/WFKNnaP0qdI/AAAAAAAAFHI/hSuP-G9s5tIH2WM77lSdiLOI9dTZn-uugCLcB/s320/sew%2Baround%2Bthe%2Btop%2Bedge.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Sew around the top edge with a larger seam. I make it slightly larger than the width of the straps so the cross strap can be sewn in place and the top hem will have a neat look when you turn the bag right side out.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eMsSSZq8feM/WFKNrJNu2pI/AAAAAAAAFHQ/Wqh3V3YJS1MCWJdm2drJxlSskuyBdd6YACLcB/s1600/sew%2Bthe%2Bhandle.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eMsSSZq8feM/WFKNrJNu2pI/AAAAAAAAFHQ/Wqh3V3YJS1MCWJdm2drJxlSskuyBdd6YACLcB/s320/sew%2Bthe%2Bhandle.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Make two straps for handles. Pin and sew them at the appropriate positions as shown in the photo. You can top-stitch an "X-box" at each end of the strap if you want.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Nfg-uJjSGbM/WFPUwg-hg6I/AAAAAAAAFHw/pUeckGmo-Pgfo-T2ceLuU-UkH_kuYUAWACLcB/s1600/a%2Bcross-weaved%2Bbag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Nfg-uJjSGbM/WFPUwg-hg6I/AAAAAAAAFHw/pUeckGmo-Pgfo-T2ceLuU-UkH_kuYUAWACLcB/s320/a%2Bcross-weaved%2Bbag.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lastly, sew a big black bow on the bag. Done.</div>
